Removing the front clip

There were a number of things I wanted to do to the old truck that would be much easier with the front clip (aka front-end) out of the way. Most basic was that I wanted to clean/paint the engine and the engine compartment, but I also planned to rebuild the steering box, and the transmission. I searched for information/videos on how to remove the front clip, but found really nothing with any details, so I decided to make my first YouTube video. It’s a pretty low quality video, but for someone who wants to know the details, it perfect.

BTW – I now have much more respect for people who take the time to post how-to videos. Beyond the effort required to put the end video together, the process of videoing the steps along the way really slows up the “job at hand”.

I was surprised how easy it was to remove the entire front clip as one piece. There are 7 bolts on either side, a couple in the front under the radiator, and a few wires to remove. Then the entire frontend of the truck came off in one piece. Ready to move on to the real projects.
