Build Your Own BeeCam

Back in 2015, in the dawn of IOT (internet of things) development, I purchased a Raspberry Pi using my birthday money. I had hoped with just a little investment, I could collect data and build a webcam for my bees and then, anytime I needed a little “zen,” I could whip out my phone and sneak a little peak to secretly get refueled.

Then, life happened and here we are three years later. The good news: as the first sabbatical project, the BeeCam is in action. We’re going to spend the next couple posts to clean up, document, and post simple steps to making a BeeCam. This guide is intended to be for bee keepers. You’ll get to know some tech jargon, but our goal here is to get you up and running, easy-peasy.
