Transition to Reconstruction

After a couple long days working in the barn this weekend, I’m nearing the transition point from disassembly to reconstruction. I removed the remaining interior stall walls, and also a couple non-supporting posts to make room for maneuvering the big glulam beams into place. Boy was that fun moving the beams from outside where they were delivered, to inside and pre-positioned as shown. If you look closely at the pictures you’ll notice there’s not a flat floor underneath them… If my calculations are correct, they each weigh over 520 lbs, and my typically very helpful son was off living his own life, so I had to use whatever mechanical advantage I could dream up, and just keep at it.
