Hive Painting New Years 2016

Hive painting is a pain in the butt, especially when it’s below freezing. Modern Molly pine hive was my BFF over New Year’s 2016 weekend. Since the barn was no more than 30-degrees, I had to haul everything into the garage and wait for my little space heater to heat up the garage to a balmy 50-degrees each morning.

All weather-facing surfaces are painted. I had two different folks tell me two different things (not surprising)…yes, some of the “touching” surfaces are painted, and some are not. That way, everyone wins. Plan for several days of painting surfaces, waiting, painting again.
